Julia Hankins

Episode 7,   Sep 28, 2020, 11:30 PM

This week I’m talking to Julia Hankins.

Julia is a fellow Brummie and yoga teacher specialising in delivering yoga and wellbeing classes and courses to children, parents and teachers. As well as being a mum of two, Julia’s an ex-primary school teacher so we talk about how she became a teacher, her wide ranging experiences of teaching in different schools, the highs as well as the lows and what, eventually, led her to leave the profession. We chat about her time teaching in Ecuador as well as her other travels across South America where I share my irrational fear of Colombia and (secret) love of a certain TV show. Julia also tells us how she felt going back into schools to teach yoga and wellbeing classes after her career as a teacher had ended years before. Julia shares how she’s coped with homeschooling her kids in lockdown, her super skills in getting children off to bed and the other kinds of support she offers to families and teachers across yoga, meditation and general wellness. We also discuss her love of camping and nature and she answers my Quickfire Questions and gives us her Savasana Sounds (Stanton Lanier - I listened to the track Breathe and it was so beautiful!)
