Emma Manning

Episode 13,   Dec 22, 2020, 12:30 AM

This week I’m talking to Emma Manning.

Emma is a yoga teacher based in Kingston-upon-Thames in Surrey. Immediately after she qualified 3 years ago Em went all out to establish herself as a yoga teacher in her local community. She very quickly found a venue, had started to advertise and set her own classes up, regularly selling out spots. This was quickly followed by securing regular teaching slots at a number of local yoga studios in her area…even teaching at a local Sweaty Betty store. Since then Emma has also trained in Barre and teaches that too.

Emma exudes a quiet confidence and she very quickly started to make a living combining yoga teaching with her other new business idea, pet services. In fact, she was so successful at marketing herself that yoga became her main focus and the dog walking had to take a back seat! Well, not quite…a conversation with Emma wouldn’t be complete without mentioning her companion, always at her side, her little dog Bertie.

Like many of us, Emma had a career before becoming a yoga teacher…she worked in banking complaints…for 14 years…yes! Can you imagine? Dealing with angry people for that long? Well you don’t have to as we’re going to discuss this during the podcast.

Emma and I did our TT together so for those 200 hours a few years ago I got to know Emma pretty well but I’d like to know more about what led her to yoga as well as what she’s been doing since, so I hope you enjoy listening to our conversation.
