12th June 2021 - Tech News & Reviews on BBC Berkshire

Jun 12, 2021, 11:14 PM

Fevzi Turkalp, the Gadget Detective, joins Bill Buckley on BBC Berkshire to discuss the latest tech news and reviews. This week; police perform the mass sting arrest of around 800 criminals globally by listening in on their communications, seizing guns, drugs, and other materials after the FBI set up their own messaging service for criminals to use unwittingly.

Gadget of the Week is the Withings Move ECG. This water resistant wristwatch contains activity tracking, health tracking of over 30 activities, sleep analysis, and a medically certified ECG monitor capable of detecting atrial fibrillation but, unlike most smartwatches, doesn't feature a digital display, instead sporting a conventional all analogue design and using your smartphone to display the results of the health tracking, including the ability to save the results as a PDF to give to your doctor. The advantage of this all analogue design is the battery lasts around a year, avoiding the repeated recharging associated with many similar devices. Scoring 4 out of 5, listen in for more details.
