4th September 2021 - Tech News & Reviews on BBC Berkshire

Sep 05, 2021, 03:58 PM

Fevzi Turkalp, the Gadget Detective, joins Bill Buckley on BBC Berkshire to discuss the latest tech news and reviews. This week; China announce further restrictions on under 16s playing games online, limiting them to just 3 hours a week and then only on certain days, plus pressuring companies to introduce ways to identify who is playing, such as facial recognition, but is this a good idea and could we see similar introduced elsewhere?

Gadget of the Week is the Logitech Crayon for iPad. Designed to work with iPads from 2018 and later, this stylus allows you to draw and write on the screen, incluidng photo editing, painting. Supporting palm rejection to avoid unwanted pen/brushstrokes, and tilt support which allows you to alter the width of the brushstroke. Though lacking the pressure sensitivity of the offical Apple Pencil, this alternative is much cheaper and ideal for those not needing the pressure input, and it's available in two colours. Scoring 4 out of 5, listen in for full details.
