Best Places to Find the Ghosts of Christmases Past

Season 3, Episode 2,   Dec 13, 2021, 09:12 PM

This week we travel to places that are historic, haunted, and dedicated to bringing the Christmas season from bygone eras alive.

These places deck the halls in a major way for the holiday season. However, in addition to conjuring the Christmas spirit, they’re also great places to find restless spirits too.

In this episode, we explore:

  1. The connection between Legend of Sleepy Hollow author Washington Irving, the Bracebridge Dinner at the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park, and the possible ghost of Mary Curry Tresidor, one of the hotel's former operators.
  2. The haunted happenings at the Tinker Swiss Cottage in Rockford, Illinois.
  3. How they celebrate the spirit of Christmas past in Mystic, Connecticut.
  4. A Victorian Christmas in Cape May, New Jersey, where they know a thing or two about paranormal tourism which among their holiday tours they even have a Ghost of Christmas Past trolley tour.
  5. What Christmas in historic Colonial Williamsburg has to offer. But warning, picking only a few haunted places to talk about was hard!
  6. The southern hospitality of Christmas in the Holy City, Charleston, South Carolina. Again, Charleston overflows with haunted places so it was a challenge to narrow down which ones to discuss.
  7. The grandeur of Christmas past amongst the Millionaire Cottages and the Jekyll Island Club in Jekyll Island, Georgia. Speaking of the "cottages," Jekyll may hold a record for most haunted mansions all in one place!

So hop in our sleigh for haunted destinations steeped in history, mystery, and ghost stories that also include a healthy dose of Christmas magic!
