Brass Knuckle Babysitters Busted! | True Crime Podcast

Two women face charges after children in their care were allegedly hit with metal knuckles.

On Friday, June 10, at around 12:43 p.m., Burke County Sheriff's Office received information about child abuse allegations against Natalie "Shane" Childress of 6583 Gold Creek Road in Connelly Spring, North Carolina. It was alleged that she struck children in her care and control with metal knuckles, causing serious injuries.

Child Protective Services contacted Jessica Sanders, the mother of the children at the home, who told them the children were not there.

When deputies searched the house, they discovered the children hiding inside, and they were transported to the hospital due to their injuries.

WCNC-TV reports that Childress was arrested and charged with neglectful child abuse inflicting severe bodily injury on the women. A charge of assisting/assisting negligent child abuse inflicting severe bodily injury has been filed against Sanders.

According to the Burke County Sheriff's Office, the two women were booked into the Burke County Magistrate with $250,000 bonds.
