Erotic Massage Turns To Murder | True Crim Daily Brief

A man and a woman, both aged 25, have been charged with second-degree murder after they reportedly shot a man who had refused to pay for an erotic massage.
At 2:07 a.m. on September 24th, someone called 911 and then hung up, prompting Inner Grove Police to respond to a residence in the 2100 block of 78th Court East. Police reportedly came to find a lifeless male adult lying on the floor. After his death, he was recognized as Michael Chang-Beom Lee, 43 years old.
Lee was shot in the chest, as determined by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.
Initially, police detained Fotini West, Logan Slack, and Sean Lumley.
Dakota County Attorney issued charges of second-degree intentional homicide and second-degree felony murder against Logan Slack and Fotini West three days after the killing. There are no charges against Lumley.
The criminal complaint states that at 2:07 a.m., a guy dialed 911 and said, "help me" and "they are attempting to get into my house."
It was reported that the phone line then went dead.
The police arrived at the house and entered from the back. The police found Lee dead in the basement bathroom, "in a huge quantity of blood," after noticing his bloody tracks on the carpet.
Two eyewitnesses reportedly told police that they observed a beat-up SUV, not belonging to any of the neighbors, pull up in front of the victim's house and then drive off before the police arrived.
When police found the vehicle, they pulled it over. West was allegedly "visibly bleeding on her arms and chest area" when the officer pulled up next to her in the front seat.
When emergency personnel arrived, they saw she had blood all over her body.
According to West's statement to police, Lee assaulted her as she was leaving his home. She made a call to Slack, and "the next thing she knew, Slack was physically hauling her out of the man's apartment."
Shoes similar to Slack's were purportedly discovered in Lee's house. It has been reported that the police officer "noticed a huge bulge in the front of Slack's sweatshirt pocket, which was determined to be the soles of Slack's shoes he was wearing."
It has been alleged that while being held at the Dakota County Jail, Slack admitted to authorities that he drove West to Lee's house for an erotic massage in exchange for payment. Supposedly, West informed Slack that Lee "assaulted her and was canceling payment for the services agreed upon."
Slack got a pistol out of the trunk and used the butt to break into the house. Lee hid in a restroom while Slack and West went in pursuit to confront him. Lee was on the phone with 911 when Slack allegedly "broke a massive hole in the bathroom door" and "attempted to grasp West through the hole in the door."
To prevent Lee from calling the police and to "guarantee electronic payment for the massage," Slack allegedly shot him.
When West went to the restroom, Slack allegedly took Lee's phone and drove off with it.
