A Georgia man was given a life term for molesting, raping, and sodomizing his biological daughter.

A 38-year-old man was recently found guilty of raping and molestation of his little biological daughter while her mother was at work and given a life sentence.

In response to the victim's mother reporting the abuse and contacting police, the investigation got underway in the summer of 2019, according to a press statement from Coweta County District Attorney John Herbert Cranford Jr. According to reports, when the girl was questioned, she admitted that her father had assaulted her.

The youngster was subjected to a sexual assault examination, according to Cranford, and the findings backed up the victim's claims. Cranford claims that from the time the victim was 7 years old until she was 10 years old, the victim's father, Richard Nelms, sexually assaulted, orally sodomized, and molested his biological daughter. According to reports, the victim's father began abusing her while they were still married, and it continued after their divorce.

Nelms was detained on July 11 of this year and lodged in the Coweta County Jail. Nelms was convicted guilty of incest, rape, child molestation, and aggravated child molestation, the D.A.'s office reported on October 20. According to Cranford, Nelms was given a 50-year sentence with no chance of release, followed by a subsequent life sentence.

The victim, who is now 14 years old, allegedly gave a courtroom testimony regarding the torture she endured. The victim's heroism left the D.A.'s Office "in awe."
