Iowa Woman Charged in GoFundMe Cancer Scam | True Crime Today

Police have arrested and charged a 19-year-old Iowa woman with theft by means of deception in connection with a fraudulent GoFundMe page. Madison Russo is suspected of scamming more than $37,000 from 439 donors claiming that she had acute lymphoblastic leukemia, stage two pancreatic cancer, and a “tumor the size of a football” that wrapped around her spine.
