Uncharted Dying (part 2) with Dianna Sawyer

Episode 27,   Sep 13, 2023, 03:40 PM

Due to the tremendous response we had to our first discussion about death and hospice care (Episode 11: Death Smiles at Us All), we are taking a deeper dive with hospice nurse (and Christine’s sister) Dianna Sawyer to discuss the signs of end of life, the glimmers of hope we can find in the process, and some profoundly beautiful cultural differences in caring for the dying.  This conversation is full of powerful moments along with a lot of laughs.

In this episode:

End of life signs - what to watch for and what do they mean
Glimmers of hope in the process for the dying and the grieving family
How someone close to death can still enjoy a Manhattan
Christine’s horror story with hospice
Steph’s story of lovingly tending to the dead in the Jewish community
Sounds of silence
