Idiot Driver in Malibu Crash Faces Murder Charges and $8 Million Bail

Frazier Michael Bohm, the 22-year-old BMW driver initially
suspected of vehicular manslaughter in the tragic October 17 crash that killed four
college seniors in Malibu, is now facing murder charges and an $8 million bail,
according to an updated press release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's
Department.
On Tuesday, Bohm was rearrested by detectives on four counts of murder, one
week after the catastrophic incident on Pacific Coast Highway. The victims,
identified as Niamh Rolston, 20, Peyton Stewart, 21, Asha Weir, 21, and Deslyn
Williams, 21, were college seniors and sorority sisters studying at Pepperdine
University’s Seaver College of Liberal Arts.
The arrest follows a comprehensive investigation, including the execution of
search warrants, traffic analysis of Bohm's speed, and toxicology testing. Bohm
had been previously released from custody as pending evidence, such as
toxicology and speed analysis, took additional time to collect.
The fatal crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 17 in the 21600 block of Pacific
Coast Highway. Bohm, driving westbound in his BMW, lost control of his vehicle,
swerved towards the shoulder, and collided with the victims who were walking
nearby after hitting several parked cars.
Pepperdine University President Jim Gash called the incident an unimaginable
tragedy, expressing condolences to the families. A memorial service for the
victims highlighted their impact on the community, with a promise of posthumous
degrees for the victims in 2024.
Bohm, known locally as a former Oaks Christian High School baseball player, had
turned 22 just one day before the deadly crash. He was treated for minor injuries
at a hospital and released.
Bohm is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 25.
