Two Georgia men, Stephen Glosser, 37, and Caleb Kinsey, 34, face federal charges following an indictment connected to an alleged home explosion targeting a woman and her child in Richmond Hill, Ga., in January 2023.

Authorities revealed that the explosion, occurring on January 13, 2023, resulted from an improvised explosive device detonated at a residential structure around 5 a.m. Fortunately, the occupants, the woman, and her child, escaped unharmed.

The victim had recently moved into the home, and Bryan County Sheriff Mark Crowe disclosed that the woman had a prior relationship with one of the suspects, though not specifying which one.

The indictment, issued by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of Georgia, details disturbing plans allegedly orchestrated by Glosser and Kinsey over a month-long period between December 2022 and January 2023.

The indictment accuses the men of plotting various attacks, including releasing a large python into the victim’s home to harm her daughter and scalping the woman. Additionally, they allegedly planned to shoot arrows into her front door and mail dog feces or dead rats to her.

Moreover, Glosser allegedly searched online to locate the woman’s address and mapped out a path to her home. The duo is accused of crafting an explosive device and then using it to blow up the victim’s home.

Charges against Glosser and Kinsey include stalking, using an explosive to commit a felony, and conspiracy, among others. Kinsey faces additional charges of providing false statements while purchasing a firearm and possession of firearms by a felon.

Authorities have not disclosed a possible motive for the attack.

Both suspects were apprehended shortly after the explosion, with Glosser arrested locally and Kinsey arrested in Louisiana in February 2023. However, it wasn't until more than a year later that they were formally indicted on the federal charges.

As of now, it is unclear whether Glosser and Kinsey have retained legal representation or entered pleas. Online court records do not provide this information.

This case highlights the gravity of the charges and the alleged premeditated nature of the attempted attack, prompting concern among authorities and the community about the safety of the victim and her family.

The trial proceedings are expected to reveal further insights into the motives and specifics surrounding this disturbing incident.
