Jim Walter, renowned UFC manager and entrepreneur, joins episode 75 of Chats with Clark, which Jim notes as his first real public appearance since his life flipped upside down in July 2022. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Jim was founded on service to others and thinking about the ways in which he could improve the lives of people around him, crediting Saint Ignatius High School for this mentality.
On that day in July 2022, Jim's mom and grandma were brutally murdered by his brother. When the fight turned for Jim, he credits his background in jujitsu for Jim's ability to stay alive. Really, though, the fight kept going after that horrific day.
Each and every day, Jim aims to be consistent. From then on, Jim recognized all the more how precious time is. In his words, his advice to younger him would be to "smell the roses" more and to spend time on things that really matter (faith, community, service to others, friendship, love, connection).
With his life entirely changed, Jim worked to emerge as his best self. He never backed down and worked feverishly on growth. Prior to the tragedy, Jim was a UFC manager, which expanded past just the UFC; Jim managed the legendary careers of Stipe Miocic, Anthony "Lionheart" Smith, and even Myles Garrett, among many others.
Back on his feet, though admittedly never out of the waters from this horrible day, Jim strives now to empower women athletes with his representation group called BLOOM.
Jim's mom was a massive sports fan and always advocated for women in sports, and Jim sees this work at BLOOM as a great way to build his family legacy and uplift his mother's passion.
As one of the most humble, disciplined men, Jim Walter encourages all of us to live by one of the quotes that he reads each morning: "I love myself and the good things that are meant for me will come to me."
Tune in to episode 75 to hear Jim Walter's bone-chilling story and how he is using his story as means to develop and carry on his family legacy, while also inspiring female athletes throughout the world to keep chasing their dreams. Frankly, Jim inspires each and every person that he encounters; every person that knows Jim, loves Jim. He is THAT impressive.
This is one of those episodes that you won't stop thinking about and will definitely listen to more than once.
