Tom Rini, founder of the gym Black Flag Athletics Strength & Conditioning, joins episode 78 of the Chats with Clark Podcast to share the mindsets that allow for him to excel as a gym owner and a leader.
As a member of the 2011 John Carroll University Athletic Hall of Fame, Tom exhibits a "Hall of Fame" mindset throughout his life. To earn this achievement, Tom displayed steadfast commitment to his craft, almost to an obsessive point.
In business, Tom shares with his employees that energy is infectious. "If we don't act like we want to be here [at the gym], why would anyone else?" This notion of showing up every day with passion and bringing enthusiasm into each aspect of life is Tom's philosophy.
Throughout the process, Tom has grown more in balance. He describes cleaning the toilets and wearing all of the hats when initially starting the business, but through trusted individuals in his corner, they encouraged him to delegate in order to take care of himself. Ultimately, that strive for balance is an ongoing quest and inherently difficult in collaboration with Tom's Hall of Fame mindset.
Tune in to episode 78 of Chats with Clark to hear stories of resilience, dynamic energy, and the belief that we all can achieve growth while striving for some sort of balance. Oh, and stay off of Instagram to actually make progress!
