Vegas trips with her sister. Church visits with the family. VIP concert seats at the Fonda Theatre. A notarized travel consent form for London — for an entire week, with no family chaperone. Celeste Rivas Hernandez's parents allegedly agreed to all of it before their daughter was killed.

D4vd's preliminary hearing ended July 27th with a judge ruling there's enough evidence for trial. David Anthony Burke faces first-degree murder with special circumstances, charges related to continuous illegal conduct with Celeste, and mutilation of her remains. No bail. Arraignment August 31st. The DA says the death penalty is under consideration. But the hearing's final day exposed a contradiction that won't go away — the mountain of evidence showing the family knew about the relationship, and the father's categorical denial that he'd ever met Burke.

Burke has pleaded not guilty. Celeste was fourteen years old.
