Why Nancy Guthrie's Sheriff Changed His Story Overnight

One day, Pima County's sheriff said there was no ransom note in the Nancy Guthrie case. The next day, his department released two. Tony Brueski and retired FBI behavioral analyst Robin Dreeke take listener questions on that reversal and everything else this case has surfaced in the six months since Nancy was taken from her Tucson home. 
The first note opens with 'Hello Savannah,' demands four million dollars in Bitcoin, and knows details only someone inside the house would know: a white smart watch on the floor by the bed, a destroyed flood light out back. The second asks for nothing at all. It claims Nancy died shortly after she was taken, that she's buried in nature, and that the writer hopes her children find peace. Listeners want to know who abandons four million dollars, how the writer knew the inside of that house, and whether a sheriff who reversed himself overnight can be trusted with the rest of this case. 
The financial trail raises its own questions. Retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer's trace shows the only money that ever moved into the alleged kidnapper's wallet came from the FBI itself, roughly three hundred dollars, and it's still sitting there untouched. No ransom was ever paid, despite Savannah Guthrie's public statement that the family did their part. Messages written directly to that wallet echo Savannah's exact on-camera words, and that line has never been answered.
