Fabio Salerno: Consistency in Excellence; "Having a Guy for That"; Running Lago & Sora Restaurants

"I'm competitive. I'll bet on my wife each and every time," slams Fabio Salerno, the owner of Lago and Sora Restaurants in the Flats of Cleveland. Throughout episode 83, Fabio dives into what has made his wife and he so successful over the last 20 years at Lago. The common thread has been consistency. 

Fabio prides himself on being consistent, describing his businesses as dynamic, authentic, and delicious, three traits that have allowed him to skyrocket into being a staple of the Cleveland food and entertainment scene. As a husband and father, Fabio brings this same consistency into those roles, where he devotes his time to showing up for his family and really being present in those moments. 

It's in this family dynamic that Fabio has found his authentic leadership approach: he runs his businesses like a family. Each employee becomes part of that family and is respected as such, allowing for his team to stay close-knit and pushing forward through both the difficult times and also the blissful ones. 

Originally, as a child, Fabio learned the importance of community through his Italian family roots. Tinkering in the kitchen with his mom and grandma showed him his love for the creative aspects of cooking, and then sitting around the table brought his family together. From there, his uncles instilled in him at an early age the importance of having a network and "having a guy for that," the penned line on Fabio's "Meatballers" food truck (the shirt he wore for this episode).
