Why D4vd Made Twelve Million And Couldn't Pay His Own Lawyers

Twelve million dollars went through d4vd's accounts between 2022 and 2025 — management fees, recording costs, legal expenses, brand partnerships, and a twenty-thousand-dollar monthly rental in the Hollywood Hills. His mother Colleen made the financial decisions. His label terminated him in December 2025, four months before his arrest. By August 31, 2026, a Los Angeles court determined the singer qualifies as indigent. Blair Berk, the Hollywood crisis attorney who built her career representing Harvey Weinstein and Mel Gibson, withdrew from the case at the same hearing where Burke pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder with special circumstances. Her co-counsel Marilyn Bednarski told Rolling Stone it was Burke's decision and there's "no conflict" — then declined to explain how he qualifies for a public defender.
