Patrick Clancy was not charged in his children’s deaths, and there is no public evidence implicating him.

You would not know that from portions of social media.

Online communities have dissected his move to New York, remarriage, testimony and personal history while unsupported theories attempt to turn the surviving father into another suspect in a case where the evidence does not establish that.

Why?

Patrick forgave Lindsay. He did not publicly transform himself into an avatar for vengeance. He eventually rebuilt a private life.

Instead of accepting that grief can coexist with survival, some observers treat recovery itself as suspicious.

Maybe that says considerably more about what audiences want from tragedy than it says about Patrick Clancy.
