How JP Miller's $5.59 Million Church Fell Apart in Six Months

When JP Miller told a reporter in December 2023 that Solid Rock Church drew 700 members with standing room only, the ministry behind it held four properties valued at $5.59 million in county records. A private airplane. At least 11 vehicles. A private school adding grades every year. Twenty-eight cleared acres awaiting a new campus that congregation members had already put a million dollars toward.
Six months after Mica Miller's death, the building was empty and the school was shut down. The FBI had searched JP's home. JP had been arrested after a confrontation with a protester. His spiritual adviser, who in May 2024 told the congregation he was "here for the duration," was loading trucks and declining comment.
The building sold in February 2025 for $2.15 million. It was flipped in April for $2.6 million. JP's attorney told reporters he had no idea the sale had happened. Highway 17 parcels worth millions on the tax rolls transferred to a new entity JP registered — for $5 each. JP then said he was "not involved" with the entity where he remained registered agent.
JP tried to use the courts to control the fallout the way he had controlled the congregation. More than twenty harassment filings against protesters. Most dismissed. The one trial ended with a former bassist winning $3,400 to JP's $100.
JP Miller faces trial in the October 2026 federal term on cyberstalking and false-statement charges. He has pleaded not guilty and denies all allegations. He has not been charged in Mica's death.
