Trial Of Caleb Flynn Day 3: What Did Ballistics Reveal About the Bullets?

Aaron Schultz and Alex Miller of BCI took jurors through the firearm evidence recovered from the scene after Ashley Flynn was killed, including the markings and striations they compared during their analysis. 

The two BCI experts testified about examining shell casings and bullets for markings, striations, and other indicators that can be compared across pieces of firearm evidence. Their analysis led them to testify that the two bullets recovered in the case came from the same gun. 

Schultz and Miller also testified that the gun used to kill Ashley had not been used in any other crime. Their testimony put the recovered bullets and shell casings into the same ballistics analysis for the jury. 

Caleb Flynn is charged with aggravated murder and other offenses in the death of his wife, Ashley Flynn. He has pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors allege the scene was staged to look like a burglary, while the defense says Ashley was killed during a home invasion and investigators focused on Caleb too quickly.
