The Words Judge Pratt Had for Caleb Flynn Before Giving Him Life

Judge Jeannine Pratt addressed Caleb Flynn directly before sentencing him in a Miami County courtroom. She told him his actions were abhorrent. She said the layers of deceit and cruelty were impossible to fathom and noted that he used his own father to manipulate others. She told him Ashley died in her own home — that he could have separated, walked away, let Ashley be with the people who loved her. She said through greed and lust he decided to take her life. She told him he was the person who was supposed to protect his daughters and that he shattered their lives instead. She asked one question and said the court could not answer it. Then she gave him his sentence. Flynn was convicted on all nine counts for shooting Ashley in the back of the head as she slept and staging a home invasion. The defense plans to appeal.
