Sure, I understand, like I said i've heard people pronounce it both ways. I'm sure you're right, but there we go.
See, thing is, the etymology for the word "athame" is derived, with some corruptions, from Latin. That's why it should be pronounced the way I indicated. But I'm picky; I realize this. I don't like the Anglosized pronunciation. :-) But anyhow, I didn't comment to start a linguistics battle. I really did like your Boo. :-)
Hi, I’ve heard it pronounced Atham-may. And athame as in the boo. Usually Wiccans pronounce it the more flowery way as you illustrated. I’ve heard members of my order pronounce it athame as in flame rather than may. I don’t think it really matters. I have one too.
