Apple CEO Tim Cook last week suggested that achieving a return on investment was not a consideration when making products accessible to blind people.

On the face of it this is great news. It means that there are certain things, such as ensuring iPhones and Macs can be used by anybody, regardless of disability, trunps key business focused factors. But does it also spell the end of the idea, perhaps the myth, that making products and services accessible from the outset makes strong business sense. In other words, has the mainstreaming of accessibility lost its business case?
