Bruna Cordati recites Pascoli

Generally when somebody dies in this area, people know within hours as posters are put up around the city informing people of their death and the date, time and place of their funeral but one recent death “flew under the radar” so to speak and passed off without the general public really being aware.

After checking with family members to make sure that their privacy was not being invaded, we now publish a letter written by a group of friends of Bruna Cordati Martinelli who died at the beginning of this month and a short video of her recorded last year where although already physically frail her acute mental capacity is immediately apparent.

Bruna, literary critic and author was the daughter of the painter Bruno Cordati and lived until the last couple of days of her life in the Palazzo Cordati in Barga Vecchia, in amongst her father’s collection of paintings and art gallery.
