QROT-087: Not Only Could $50K not incentivize Steele to confirm dossier, even a MILLION dollars could not

Oct 13, 2022, 04:35 AM

An update:
THE reason for D.C. shaking for over three years, was known early to be clearly potentially political, and not corroborated. Before we thought $50K was offered for the namesake of the "dossier" to corroborate. No. Try a cool million Still not enough to get him to corroborate (ohwaithatisbecauseitisjunkandtheFBIknewItAsSoonAsTheyTalkedToThePrimarySubSource)

Further info:

FBI supervisory counterintelligence analyst Brian Auten was the first witness in the trial of Igor Danchenko, the Russian national who served as the primary sub-source for Steele’s "dossier".  Danchenko is charged with five counts of making false statements to the FBI*

Auten testified that he and a group of FBI agents went overseas in early October of 2021 to speak with Steele about the dossier. During questioning by Special Counsel John Durham Tuesday, Auten said that during those meetings, the FBI offered Steele $1 million dollars if he could corroborate allegations in the dossier.

Auten testified that Steele could not do so.

Auten also said that the FBI had no corroboration of allegations in the dossier, but, nevertheless took that information and inserted it into the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant to surveil Carter Page.

(Recall his defense will probably say, ironically (and why Durham should pursue those in the FBI, and Comey), that the FBI had plenty of information to already know to put no stock in the Dossier. Including Danchenko himself telling him how Steele entirely mischaracterized in major ways the things that Danchenko was the sub-source for. But yet, they did put (at least political... hello) stock into it. So defense may argue that there is no harm. Of course... good luck with that - if you lied, as it appears you did... two wrongs don't make a right. It'd just be nice if the OTHER liars - those that misrepresented the known information and omitted the known contradictions - also got massively punished. Instead of apparently getting keystone kop kid-glove treatment. See these details in the related episode, QROT-084.)
