Lindsay Clancy Almost Died That Same Night

While prosecutors in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial argue she faked her injuries, a Duxbury police officer confirmed on the stand that a Code Blue was called for her hospital room at Brigham and Women's. The officer spent sixteen hours watching Clancy lie sedated and motionless. She never said a word.

Day 4 of testimony at Plymouth Superior Court started with the jury touring the Duxbury house at 47 Summer Street. They went through in groups of six — the basement where Patrick Clancy found the children, the upstairs bedroom where blood was found on the floor, the bed, the walls, and the windowsill, and the second-story window prosecutors say Lindsay jumped from. The judge overruled the current homeowner's objection to the visit.

A detective testified about meeting Clancy at South Shore Hospital, where she was unconscious with lacerations across her neck and wrists. Defense attorney Kevin Reddington showed photographs of blood throughout the bedroom and a knife on the nightstand. Then ER physicians described treating Dawson Clancy, three years old, for forty minutes before declaring him dead — and getting eight-month-old Callan's heart beating again only to find no brain activity. Callan died at Boston Children's Hospital.

Clancy is charged with three counts of first-degree murder. Her defense argues postpartum psychosis made her unable to appreciate the wrongfulness of her actions. The trial continues Monday.
