Why JP Miller Married Suzie Skinner 14 Months After Mica Miller Died

Mica Miller was found dead in April 2024. By June 2025, JP Miller was married again — to Suzie Skinner, a woman whose own first husband had drowned under scrutinized circumstances four years earlier. The speed of it is the story.

Miller was indicted in December 2025 on federal charges of cyberstalking and making false statements to investigators. Prosecutors allege he harassed Mica from November 2022 until her death — tracking devices, more than fifty contacts in a single day, interference with her finances, and an intimate image posted without consent. Miller pleaded not guilty and denies the allegations. Mica was thirty. Her death was ruled a suicide. Miller has not been charged in her death. His trial is set for October 2026.

Suzie's first husband, Chris Skinner, was a US Army veteran and quadriplegic who drowned in a community pool in September 2021. His death was ruled accidental. Chris's family has raised public concerns about the circumstances, and authorities reportedly revisited the case. Friends alleged in the Netflix docuseries that Miller and Suzie were involved before either spouse died. Miller says they started dating in January 2025. Suzie's testimony in a civil matter reportedly placed the timeline earlier.

Today, Suzie leads worship next to Miller at pop-up church services for a congregation of roughly fifteen — down from seven hundred at Solid Rock Church, which has been sold and faces demolition.
