Caleb Flynn's 'Home Invasion' Had One Problem Investigators Caught Immediately

Caleb Flynn told a 911 dispatcher that a burglar broke into his Tipp City, Ohio, home and shot his wife Ashley. He described a home invasion. He described the gunshot wounds. He described a man who fled into the night. Investigators say none of it held up past the front door. Ashley Flynn was 37 — a volleyball coach, a substitute teacher, and a mother of two young daughters who were asleep across the hall when she was shot twice in the head on February 16, 2026. Tipp City police, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and the FBI responded and immediately flagged inconsistencies in the scene. Initial charging documents said officers were at first misled by the staging but identified it as manufactured upon closer inspection. Caleb was arrested within 82 hours. A Miami County grand jury returned 11 charges — aggravated murder, three counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault, three counts of tampering with evidence, and two misdemeanor counts of witness intimidation. His bond was set at $3.5 million.
