Trial Of Caleb Flynn Day 4: Sarah Stuchell Could Not Prove WHAT?!

Sarah Stuchell's FBI toolmark testimony put the alleged break-in evidence under close examination in the Caleb Flynn trial. Her conclusion was narrower than a simple match: laboratory comparisons linked some markings as consistent with a hammer from the home, but the overall testing was inconclusive.

Flynn has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from the death of his wife, Ashley Flynn. His attorneys maintain that Ashley was killed during a home invasion. Prosecutors allege Flynn staged the scene to make it appear that way. 

Stuchell testified that she evaluated a range of tools designed for prying, gripping, and compression. She compared those tools with casts, the doorknob pieces, strike plates, and toolmarks associated with the doors. 
According to Stuchell, marks on the door frame and marks recreated in the FBI laboratory were consistent with a hammer seized from the Flynn residence. She also made clear that her report did not establish that the tested hammer, or any specific tool examined, caused the marks on the doors. The formal result remained inconclusive.
