Caleb Flynn Wrote 'I'm Not Trying to Manipulate You' and Then Did THIS

"I'm not trying to manipulate you." Caleb Flynn typed that sentence to his mistress in October 2025, near the end of a message that told her what she had to do before he'd leave his wife. What he did seven days later is the part of the Caleb Flynn trial texts that turns a year of messages into a pattern. Tony translates them, line by line.

The frame is simple. Caleb Flynn writes something, and Tony tells you what it actually meant to the twenty-three-year-old reading it. When he calls his wife by a nickname instead of Ashley, that's one move. When he types "I hate her" for the fortieth time, that's another. When he apologizes for his girlfriend's thoughts, that's gaslighting, and Tony explains the term in one breath: someone does a thing, you react, and they tell you the reaction is the problem.

From there it climbs. "I need her to die" turned into "Please hire someone," and five months in the girlfriend was the one typing "I want to kill her, Caleb." His answer was "That makes two of us." When she asked him in writing to get a divorce instead of taking Ashley's life, he replied that he'd "work on getting rid of her."

He put God on every delay, including a secret forty-day fast he swore on his daughters' lives no one knew about. The defense told jurors none of it was real, just a cheating husband telling a young woman what she wanted to hear. Two of his own texts answer that. "I've never joked about it," from June. And from July, his description of the past sixteen months: trying to "control and manufacture" something that would work for them.

Prosecutors allege he shot Ashley as she slept on February 16, 2026 and then staged the house to look like a break-in. Caleb Flynn has pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder and the related counts. Tony closes on the September messages about Ashley's phone, and the excuse Caleb had ready in case she woke up.
