What Caleb Flynn Told Police About His Marriage After Ashley Was Shot

When Detective Mike Morgan asked Caleb Flynn about text messages with his wife Ashley, the phone was empty. Caleb said he deletes them for storage. When Morgan asked about marital problems, Caleb said none whatsoever. When Morgan asked who might want to hurt Ashley, Caleb had two strangers ready — a man selling flags and a man at Ashley's school.

The jury has now heard what prosecutors allege Caleb Flynn left out of this conversation. More than a hundred thousand messages with a twenty-four-year-old woman from their church, according to trial testimony. Messages prosecutors say included one about thinking of ways to kill Ashley and not go to jail, and a text sent hours before this interview that prosecutors allege said: I choose you, I'm free, actions will come tomorrow.
